What is needed to fully unlock the potential of agricultural biogas plants in Poland?
Poland has enormous potential for biogas production, much of which remains untapped. Experts estimate that the country has access to around 13 billion cubic metres of biomass suitable for use in methane fermentation processes. Despite this potential, only around 300 biogas plants are currently operational in Poland—fewer than half of which are agricultural installations. By comparison, Germany has over 9,000 such facilities in operation.
We warmly invite you to take part in the discussion panel held as part of the event AGRO-PREMIERY: TOWARDS AGRICULTURE 5.0.
The panel will address key issues related to the development of agricultural biogas plants in Poland, including:
Legal and financial barriers that limit investment in biogas facilities,
Technological and organisational opportunities to accelerate sector growth,
The role of the private and public sectors in unlocking Poland’s energy potential.
Panellists include:

- Bogusław Prałat – agricultural entrepreneur and operator of his own biogas plant, sharing hands-on experience from the field,

- Adam Orzech – CEO of Grupa Naturalna Energia, expert in sustainable development and renewable energy sources,

- Moderator: Dr Andrzej Jan Lewicki from the Poznań University of Life Sciences, Institute of Biosystems Engineering.
This discussion will be a valuable opportunity to explore the challenges and generate proposals for solutions that could support more effective use of Poland’s biomass resources.
We invite all those interested in the future of renewable energy, agriculture, and sustainable development to join this important debate.
